We had our first Christmas last night with Melody, Tom, Jeff, Whitney, and Justin; and Santa came!
Santa sure brought us lots of goodies!
Kari and Jonathan just can't contain their excitement
Obviously, neither can Justin :)
Everyone got to open lots of really great gifts..
Including Amelia!
After all the wonderful food and fun, it was time for me to say goodbye to my beloved Eclipse.
A sad day for me, but I know that helping family out is the most important thing and hey, Tis the season :)
We had a very Merry first Christmas of the season, and can't wait for more to come! Jonathan and I will go to Colorado Spring on Wednesday to spend time with Doug and Denise, then we will have our own mini Christmas on Thursday. I leave for Junction early Friday morning, and of course Christmas Day will be spent at the Gustavson house. See you all soon!

4 Months!
Amelia Bedilia is 4 months old now, and that means another doctor visit and 4 more shots! :( Poor girl. Last time was a very tragic event for Jonathan and I because we had never heard her cry like that before. Luckily, (I guess), this time she was an hour overdue for a nap and VERY cranky by the time they came to do the shots so the crying from the shots was just a small addition to the screaming she was already doing. Then I nursed her and she went right to sleep. Now we just have to keep her doped up all day long. She weighs 14 lbs and is 24 inches long, which keep her in the 50th percentile. I love my little petite girl!

Tree Time
It's my favorite time of year, preparing for Christmas! I love getting the tree, shopping, putting up lights (if it's not too cold) and eating lots of junk! I have done ALL of those things in the last few days. Yesterday we made the trek out into the cold to pick a tree from a nice lot :) we're not adventurous enough to get out and hack one down ourselves yet. I decorated it with the few ornaments Jonathan and I have bought for each other and the 2 "Baby's 1st Christmas" ornaments we got this year from Amelia's Grandma's. I think it's beautiful. Another great thing about the holidays is that now our house smells like pine.
In other news, Amelia is 4 months old tomorrow! Wow. She has now rolled over front to back 3 times on her own! Yay for her! We love playing dress up with her and all her cute winter sweaters, and can't wait to come home in 16 days so you all can love it too! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving today, and you all remembered everything you were thankful for. I am so thankful for my family. First, all the original Gustavson kids, who I love so much. Then, gaining brothers and sisters-in-law as they all got married. Next, marrying into a wonderful set of in-laws myself. And last, having a baby and creating a family of my own. Of course, the people who mean the most to me are my parents, and I am thankful that I get to spend Christmas with them this year! Here are some highlights of our day spent in the Springs:

Watching TV
Tonight Jonathan and I were sitting on the couch with Amelia, waiting for her to get tired, which usually takes longer than we want. We layed her down on the couch facing us to let her kick around for a little while. She decided that she was really interested in watching Jay Leno with us, and since this was the only way for her to do it, she'll take it!

The Holidays!
This time of year (besides the freezing cold) is always one of my favorites because I just LOVE the holiday cheer. I know, mostly from working retail, that not everyone is cheery about the holidays, but they are NOT going to bring me down! I am so excited about Thanksgiving this year, which we are going to spend at Jonathan's Dad's house in Colorado Springs. I am so ready to put on my Winter sweaters and my beautiful red coat that Jonathan bought me last Christmas and head out into this holiday season. I seriously think I could listen to Christmas music all year long. Amelia has taken a great liking to classical music. It seems to be the only thing that can keep her calm in her car seat, and I turn it on all the time at home just for something to entertain her, so this year will be a classical Christmas around our house. Black Friday I plan on hitting the mall and other stores to finish up our shopping list, and then Christmas will be here before we all know it! Hopefully Elsha will have her baby before then so we all have something to play with (besides our other 5 kids!) lol. Anyway~ I just thought I should let everyone know about all the joy in my life :) While we're at it, here is a picture of Amelia yesterday in her "Johnny Jumper" that Kirsta let us borrow!

Eli Joseph Jacobs
This past week I have had the privilege of spending time at Kirsta and Joe's house with my newest nephew Eli. He is SO cute and snuggly and SO calm. Kirsta and I were laughing that it's like she's not pregnant anymore but she also doesn't have another child, because you literally forget he's there!! We took lots of great pictures, here are my favorites:
Good work Kirsta and Joe! He is a doll :)

Photo shoot
Yesterday we took Amelia to Sears to get her 3 months pics taken! They turned out SO SO cute I love them! And we figured while we were there that we would get some Christmas pics of her and us taken too. I'm not going to post any of the ones that I ordered for the family or for Christmas cards so that we then come in the mail you will all be surprised :) Here are some of the other ones!
Her 3 month pics.. not the perfect outfit but we had really only planned on getting Christmas pics so this was all we had :)

We liked this pic because it's just like the one we got when I was preggo looking at my belly

3 Months
Yesterday Amelia turned 3 months old! Wow. It has gone by so fast. She's started making so many facial expressions is smiling all the time. She also "found" her toys on the bouncy seat and on a play mat that we have set up in the living room. She grabs onto them and can even spin the ball to make it make noise!

Just snortin' and gigglin'
Amelia giggles!!! We were laying in bed last night because of course Jonathan and I were ready to hit the hay and Amelia was up for about 2 hours after that :) I don't know why but I snorted at her and she got startled, and I thought it was funny but Jonathan's like, "You're scaring her!" But then she smiled at me, so I did it again and she giggled!! Jonathan and I looked at eachother for a long time and said, "is she giggling or do we just think she's giggling?!" It was the most amazing noise ever, it just made us both so happy! We had to keep doing it for about 30 minutes and take 3 videos :) I'll post 2 of the videos just because 1 isn't enough!

Just BEEing a family
I hope everyone had a great Halloween last night! I know we did. I had mentioned to Melody that I was going to run by Wal-mart last minute to buy Jonathan a yellow t-shirt and some black duct tape so we could be a family of bees, and of course she volunteered her craftiness for us and in only a few hours we both had very cute "bee" t-shirts with black ribbon neatly ironed on and spray-painted antennas :) We were very grateful for her services! First we went and trick-or-treated our favorite friends from church so they could see the baby, and then we spent a couple hours at one of Jonathan's managers house who took 2 days off work before Halloween to completely deck out his house. And decked out it was! Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of it, but they are really into the holidays, to say the least. Anyway~ Here are some pics of us! Enjoy

Conversations with Dad
Tonight Jonathan was really trying to teach Amelia to say "Dada." He might be jumping the gun just a little, but at least they're communicating in some form!

October Outfits
I love it when people go shopping and can't resist buying clothes for your baby :) jk. October lends itself to cute outfits for babies because it's Halloween month so we've had a great time dressing Amelia up in her festive clothing from Grandma Linda and a friend.
We can't wait for Halloween to dress her as a Bee! Hope everyone is having a great October!

Our Pottery Barn addition :)
Since we started planning Amelia's nursery WAAY back when, we were trying to figure out the best place to keep all of her clothes, because the closet in her room in Jonathan's. There is also a 6 drawer dresser in her room, also Jonathan's. So, short of having Jonathan move all his stuff into the closets downstairs, which is just cruel, we had to think of another way. We had been browsing online at Pottery Barn kids, just to look, never to buy because their stuff is outrageously priced. We found a cute set of cubbies that were stack able in various ways so if you were to rearrange the room you could also rearrange the look of the cubbies. We peeked at the price and for the plywood set of cubbies it was a mere $999.99. Woofta. After looking at them more closely, and then finding the dimensions listed on the website, Jonathan said, "I could make those!" Yay for Jonathan, I love it when he says stuff like that. After working long, hard hours over at Melody and Tom's house, we got to bring the cubbies home last night, and I love them!! There's lots more room for all of her stuff so we can be lots more organized. Check it out:
Here they are newly set up with nothing in them.
Here is when i started to put the boxes into place. The cube on the top that's just open is going to have a rod in it to hang all her dresses.
We did some rearranging of her room and put the cubbies on the wall that had her cradle, and moved the cradle under her quilt with her name. We will obviously have to move this again when she can grab stuff because tugging on the quilt would be no good!
Thanks Jonathan! I love them!

BRRR
I guess it went from being nice weather straight to winter because it snowed here in Pueblo today!! How crazy, and annoying I might add. I'm not a fan of the winter, but for some reason this year it doesn't seem as terrible as most years. I'll just get ready to snuggle up at home with my baby and a blanket for a couple months and not go anywhere! :) We bought Amelia a new sweatsuit for winter. Check it out:

2 Months
Amelia turned 2 months old on October 4th. I can't believe that much time has already gone by! It seems like it's been so much longer, but at the same time it feels like yesterday that we brought her home. It's been so much fun watching her grow and change every day. She is smiling at us SO much and just cooing away. Today, though, was a terrible day in history (hers and ours). She had her 2 month doc appt which meant 5 shots!! AHHH. It was the saddest thing in the world! Jonathan and I both cried. A lot. We are trying to keep her doped up on Tylonol, after a bad episode this afternoon when we let her medicine wear off. :( Anyway~ after the shots we took a trip to Target to buy some random stuff for her and we bought a Bumpo, since Elsha and I never made it to their storage unit to borrow theirs. Here she is:
Now wish us luck for the night and day after shots :)
