This one's for Salem

The other night Salem asked me what Amelia looked like when she's swaddled, considering it is pretty odd that our 6 month, 16lb baby still won't even take a nap without a swaddle! Here she is:

For my Valentine gift this year Jonathan got me a really neat picture frame set that I had been eyeing at B3. He got it all hung on the wall in our room for me, and now not only am I excited about filling the frames, I'm excited that we have decorations up in our room, which is the only room in the house that's not completely decked out in some sort of theme. Take a look:

Obviously we have some of the frames filled, but the rest we are hoping to take cute pictures of our family members, so whenever we see y'all you best be lookin good! :)

Valentine's Day

Jonathan and I enjoyed a very relaxing day at home for Valentine's Day this
year. Amelia spent the day playing with her new books and matching stuffed animals from Grandma and Grandpa Norwood, and then when she tuckered herself out and went down for a nap, Jonathan grilled steaks with mushrooms and swiss, and shrimp for us! Yum yum.

Reading her card

Loving her new Elmo and and Elmo colors book

Reading and learning to crawl at the same time

Our delicious dinner.. You know you're jealous!

Rescue Socks

Every night after we're done eating dinner, Jonathan feeds Amelia dinner and I do the dishes. It's a great system. He just sits her in the Bumbo on the table and they have a great time eating and playing. While Amelia eats she likes to play with her socks. And also she likes to touch the spoon and her face a lot, therefore getting all her food all over her socks. I never realized how much baby food stains! My gosh. Well, the other night she was wearing an all white footed play suit from her great-aunt Shirley, which Jonathan saw as a disaster waiting to happen. As I'm doing the dishes I hear him say, "Thank you, rescue socks!" I came over to see what in the world he was talking about and it was this:

He had put a pair of her socks over the outfit! I laughed so hard!! He dropped a big glob of food on them, which is why he thanked them.

We've come up with an even better solution since then:

A Bumbo play tray!

Candy dish

One thing that has happened to me since I married Jonathan is I've developed a sweet tooth. It's all his fault, really ;) I like to bake, and now that I stay at home I do it quite often. It used to be that if there were homemade cookies around, I would eat one here and there but that was it. Now, I'll eat candy, chocolate, ice cream (every night), even dreaded store-bought cookies! What's happened to me?! Anyway~ the other night we had a laugh because we didn't have ANY sweets in the house. Not even chocolate chips in the freezer to munch on. So, the next day, while at the grocery store, I thought it would be cute to buy a Valentine dish and fill it with Hershey's to put on our table. Well apparently Amelia knows where the good stuff is too because she won't stay out of it!! We let her sit on the table in the Bumbo a lot, and somehow she always manages to get to that dish and dump it! It's pretty cute actually.

Looking for it

Reaching for it

Success!

Shrills of love

Some of you may know that I enjoy, no that's not the right word, I LOVE to scare people. That fact has become a reality for not only Kari and the people I work with, but now for Amelia also. I know that you may think its demented to scare your own baby, but the great thing is that she seems to enjoy it! This works out well for both of us because we are able to equally enjoying the scare. Below I have included a clip of a recent dinner scare attempt that turned into a laughing, shrill filled good time! I hope you enjoy! -Jonathan

Jackpot

We hit the jackpot! At least along the lines of new clothes for Amelia :) A couple weeks ago I went to Old Navy's huge sale, and everything that had an orange sticker was an additional 50% off the sale price. Unfortunately, they didn't have too many baby clothes left, but I did get a couple great deals.

Shoes for next winter: $1.50

Snow pants $4.50

Also, I have become a Craigslist junkie. I check the listings at least twice a day because there are so many great deals on there and I just don't want to miss anything! A little while back I got 20 books for Amelia for $10. Ten of the books were board books, and six were Berenstein Bears! Can't beat that deal! Yesterday I got 5 pairs of toddler shoes for $15, and two of them were Nike's! I love Craigslist.

These 3 are for Amelia, the other 2 (not pictured) are for Kalena.

On top of all that, Melody has been hard at work, like always, making beautiful summer clothes for Amelia. She's not the spoiled first grandchild or anything ;) We are so set in the clothes department, now it just needs to be the right season for the right size clothes! I can't wait to play dress up!

Adorable designs in the middle of these rompers made from her new embroidery machine

The blue dress is reversible and therefore came with 2 sets of bloomers and a reversible hat

Last night we were trying some of her new clothes on her and I just loved this picture. I wish she hadn't had her white onsie on underneath but whaddya do??
