Recents

I haven't written for a little while so I thought I would just post a couple recent pictures of Amelia, for all your viewing pleasure. The thing that I find conflicting is that most of these are already posted on facebook so this might be a repeat for some of you guys. If so, don't look! Lol.

Feeding her Peaches.. She didn't love them and then she had a terrible night sleeping so I wonder if they made her tummy hurt?

Big smiles

It snowed here a couple days ago and after Jonathan shoveled the driveway he came in and put his beanie on her.

We had some fun with her hair and static electricity

We are trying to get her to drink out of a sippy cup since she wouldn't ever take a bottle. She's slowly getting better at it.

This is what prompted the sippy cup. She likes to take drinks from my water but it gets a little messy

The big 3-1

Another year down! Jonathan had to work yesterday during the day, but then we got to drop off the baby at Grandma's house (thanks Melody!!) and go out on a date to Red Lobster.

When we got home and put the baby to bed he opened his gift from Jeff, Whitney and I, which was a Blu-Ray player and his first Blu-Ray movie, Gladiator.

All in all a successful day. Now Jonathan is officially in his 30's :)

The 5's Tag

10 Years Ago:
10 years ago I was 14 and was just about to move to Minnesota. I moved there Jan 26th. Not a great memory but definitely a life-changing experience for me. I know it still took me years and years to stop messing up so much but I'd like to think that some good came out of MN :)

5 Years Ago:
5 years ago I was 19 and living in Denver with Elsha, Laura and Stacey. I was working at Charlotte Russe and loving my 40% off discount! We had lots of good times, even though I didn't get along so well with the roomies sometimes.

Side Effects

I just finished reading my book, "Naptime is the New Happy Hour," which was absolutely hilarious! Anyone that wants to borrow it let me know! I thought I'd share another page from it that really made me laugh in one of those, "That is SO true," kind of ways.

"Maybe prenatal vitamins should come with a warning label like other prescription medications. You know, the drugs that are meant to make you feel great but have a list of possible adverse reactions a mile long? The commercial for prenatals could show an extraordinarily loving family blissfully frolicking on the beach, while a soothing voice-over quickly rattles off the side effects hoping you won't notice, "Having children may result in insomnia, hypersensitivity, fatigue, constant complaining, gingivitis, difficulty concentrating, irritability, premature graying, disinterest in sex, a filthy living-room, uncontrollable urges to binge on salt-and-vinegar potato chips, mysterious weight gain, a tendency to forget your own phone number, an unhealthy obsession with germs, increased chance of financial ruin, confusion, and psychosis. Consult your doctor before you have children if you're edgy, interested in maintaining a career, or generally sane."

I truly believe Amelia has been the biggest blessing in Jonathan and my life, but I know every single mom out there can relate to what Stephanie just said!

Peas

We've decided it's time to start feeding Amelia some baby food. We tried rice cereal one time pretty unsuccessfully, so I splurged and got some jars of peas, carrots and sweet potatoes. We've done peas for 2 nights now and she really seems to like them! She even grabs onto the spoon and shoves it into her mouth until it gags her! Lovely. :)

Trying to suck it all off her bib

Broncos/ Chiefs game

As one of Jonathan's stocking stuffers I bought him Broncos tickets. We were both super excited as neither of us had ever been to an NFL football game or to Invesco Field. We arranged with Kirsta and Joe to stay the night at their house Saturday night and then they would watch Amelia (Thank you, thank you, thank you) while we went to the game. I was SUUUUUPER nervous about leaving her because she's not so good with separation from Mom and Dad and she refuses to take a bottle.. or so we thought. Come to find out, Kirsta has magic powers and got her to drink 4 oz from a bottle! YAY. Although the Broncos decided that losing 44-24 for the last game of the season would be a great idea, we had a great time!

We made it to the field!

Introducing the players

Just sooo cold!

So, last year it was Nuggets tickets, this year it was Broncos tickets.. Any ideas for next year?!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a great New Years Eve! We had a chill night at home, because, well, we have a child :) I'm reading Stephanie Wilder-Taylor's book called "Naptime is the New Happy Hour," and this is how she explains New Years:

"Every New Year's you will find yourself in the black hole of child care. Unless you want to fork out fifty bucks an hour for a sitter only to come home to find your good bottle of champagne missing, you'll be staying home. The only resolution you will end up making is not to have any more children. It's best to leave this celebration to the young, dumb, and childless. Let them get a DUI while you lie on the couch, eat Chinese takeout, and try to figure out how many of Dick Clark's facial features are still original."

Haha, she makes me laugh. So, it looks like for many years to come we will be enjoying New Year's Eve in the comfort of our own home. Jeff and Whitney came over to keep us company and we had a wonderful evening playing video games and wacky six, and eating lil' smokies and chips with queso and guac. Even Amelia graced us with her presence until 11 o'clock! Apparently she was excited about the celebration as well.

Toasting our sparkling cider

Whitney was a little tired after working 2 overnights :(

A New Years kiss for us

Our goals for 2010 include diligently scrapbooking the year, remodeling parts of the basement, maybe with a little help from Kirsta and Joe, and possibly another pregnancy :) (we'll see.)

May 2010 bring joy and happiness to all of you and your families.
