Movin' on up

As Jonathan mentioned in his earlier post, Amelia was getting a little snug in her cradle. We shopped around for a crib and finally settled on one, ordered it online, and waited ever so patiently for it to come. :) It finally came on Friday, and Amelia has spent the past couple nights in it. She seems to like it, although, much to my dismay, doesn't sleep any better than she did in her cradle. Time to night-wean!

I am so grateful to have a husband who knows how to put things together, and likes to do it! I'm convinced if it were up to me she would have no where to sleep :(

We bought the mobile from BBB and she seems to really like it! We're hoping it will assist in comfort for her when she doesn't get the boob at night :) If not, at least it entertains her while I take a shower!

Pool Time

Yesterday I took Amelia to the pool for her first time! I got together with my friend Stevie, who has a son the same age as Amelia, and we headed up to the new YMCA in town. It's pretty much a rip-off to go there if you don't have a membership.. It's $10 for an adult, which was totally ok, but then I had to pay $5 for Amelia! Shouldn't kids under 2 be free?? Even under 1? Geez. Anyway~ they gave us wristbands and said we could come back all day, and it just so happened that Jonathan was getting off work early yesterday, so I called him and told him to meet us there when he got off. So, we got our $25 (after paying for Jonathan) worth of swimming by going twice, lol! I'm sure that later in life the cost will fade but the memories will last forever.

This is her new favorite facial expression

I love this face that she's making at Henry

Going down the slide

I would like to send a special thank-you to Salem for Amelia's adorable swim-suit! We had a great time! And best of all, it was all the fun of the pool and no sun damage!

Fun in the sun

I cannot tell you how excited I am for nice, warm (hot) weather to be here! I hate the winter, and pretty much everything that comes with it, except snow on Christmas. Since it has been gradually getting nicer outside, I try to get out with Amelia every day, even if it's just for a short walk around the block. So, when I heard that it was going to be 70 degrees here today, I was super excited, and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to take Amelia to the park for the first time! Fortunately for us, we live within walking distance to a nice park with a play-set, so we just loaded the baby in the stroller and headed out. To make the day perfect, it was Jonathan's day off, so we had a family outing, and a great time!!

Wanna see for yourself?

We topped off the day by grilling some Rachel Ray "Jumbo Chicken and herb burgers with mushrooms and swiss." Delicious. I heard this weekend is supposed to be cold again.. BOOOOO. Hope you all are enjoying nice weather as well!

(by Jonathan)

If you haven't heard yet, Kari and I have been shopping around for a crib due to the fact that little miss Amelia is getting, "SOOOOOO BIG!!" This unfortunately means that she will no longer be sleeping in the cradle I made her, but I guess we have to move on because I imagine it might be embarrassing when she is 16 and still sleeping in it :-) We looked on several sites but landed on a particularly cute bed on none other than bedbathandbeyond.com.

We were very excited to get this ordered and even more excited when it showed up the day before we left for Grand Junction. We didn't have a mattress for it yet, so we decided to leave it in the box and put it together when we had a mattress and Amelia could start using her new bed.

When we got home Friday, I tore into that box like it was Christmas!!! (Amelia had some fun too.)

Isn't she cute!!

While assembling the crib, I noticed that the base seemed smaller than the mattresses we had seen in stores but thought nothing of it. But when I measured the base, then looked online and found that there were no mattresses that fit this crib, I was a little peeved. I then figured that my tried and true website would surely have an accompanying mattress to go with the crib... they didn't. What I did find was that I apparently don't read so well. Next to the lovely picture that captured our fancy like a shiny lure to a little fish read...

"Nursery Smart® Chelsea Convertible Mini Crib - Cherry

This beautiful crib with a non-toxic finish is ideal for nurseries with limited space, and is functional and practical. It is adjustable to four levels of mattress support and has no moving parts, so it is a safer crib for baby. The optional conversion rails, sold separately, convert the crib into a twin size bed. Assembly required. Crib measures 38" H x 28" W x 39" L.

Great.

So then I got to spend Sunday afternoon repackaging the crib so we could send it back, then spent tonight looking for a new crib, (which we found,)

I just hope that since I had Kari look over the details on this one that we'll get this one right! ;-)

Trip to the Junk

Jonathan and I just got home from a wonderful trip to Grand Junction. We were a little nervous to make the trip again, since the drive home after Christmas wasn't one of Amelia's best moments. We really wanted to get away for a little while since Jonathan had just finished the holidays and inventory, which are always stressful in retail. We had a great time, got to see some great friends, eat lots of great food, and of course spending time with family is always the best.

I'm such a dummy, and I'm so mad at myself for forgetting the flash drive that Elsha had JUST uploaded all her pictures from the week onto right before we left town, so here are some of the pictures I took. Maybe she'll post a blog with some of hers, or I'll post more later. :)

When we visited Kirsta, Patrick loved giving Amelia her juice

Life is rushing by..

I know it's been a while since I posted anything, sorry. I don't have anything exciting to write about today, either, but I thought I would post some recent pictures and then tell you that in two days we are off to Denver for a night and then to Grand Junction on Sunday, so I probably won't be posting for another week until we get back. :)

Wondering how Grandma makes all these cute clothes!

Fun's over

And just as I was in the middle of this post I stopped to play with a fussy Amelia, reached in her mouth and her first tooth is cut!! YAY. Bottom right. How exciting!
